Borgo Al Poggiolino

 

 

Situated in the very Heart of Florentine countryside, butyet very close to the historical city centre, Borgo al Poggiolino is an ancien tuscan mansion on Via Bolognese, a road which leads you to Bologne, through L’ Uccellatoio, smoothly descending towards San Piero a Sieve and finally climbing il Giogo and la Futa.

During the medieval times a small village, named La Pietra (which in Italian stands for stone), rose around that milestone, and heart of that village was, and is nowdays, Villa La Pietra, formerly home of Sir Harold Acton and now site of the New York University School of Law.

It is in this historical and charming context that Borgo al Poggiolino rises, surrounded by its broad garden typically rich of olive and fruit trees and of aromatic plants. The landlords have decided to transform into holiday houses the ancient agricultural buildings once used to shelter tools and to store harvests, having restored each building according to the typical tuscan country style.
